Mike Vasilko has been in business since 1997 and works closely with universities and commercial clients throughout the Chicago region. We provide a full range of design and construction administration services for building projects involving architecture, interior design, facility and master planning. Design Overview

Vasilko Architects has a diversified portfolio of quality projects. Every client and every project is unique. We create exclusive and appropriate design solutions for each new building and interior project. Design can be influenced by a client’s preferences, budget and schedule.

First and foremost design projects must achieve functional goals. Shapes and proportions, colors and materials create the artistic envelope and enhance the spaces within. 

Efforts must be made to enable historically significant buildings to survive. Vasilko Architects do not superficially recreate historic architectural styles, but we will accurately restore rare and historic building architecture. Vintage buildings are often repurposed in order to save the structure. New uses in historic buildings may not be functionally ideal, but the use serves the greater good.

Our work product is a reflection of the client and a vision, guided by our talented team of experienced professionals.

We all have civic duties, not the least of which is voting in every election. Progress can be achieved by civic discussion and the legislative process. Architects and planners have the duty to consider the impact design solutions have on the built environment we all live and work in.

Mike believes in improving the natural environment, the welfare and protection of animals, preserving clean water in the Great Lakes and the water systems of our world. The firm incorporates sustainable design features in our day-to-day project work. We are members of Environment Illinois, the U.S. Green Building Council, and the Alliance for the Great Lakes among other organizations.
